The '150 Years of Tourısm in Turkey’ exhibition, prepared by Coral Travel Group (OTI Holding), opened with a ceremony at Akdeniz University, Faculty of Tourism on September 20th.

The ceremony, hosted by Chairman of the Board of Directors of Coral Travel Group (OTI Holding) Mr. Ayhan Bektaş, was attended by The Governor of Antalya Munir Karaloğlu, the Mayor of Antalya Muhittin Böcek, AKTOB President Erkan Yağcı, Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism of Antalya Ibrahim Acar, ATSO President Davut Çetin, ATAV President Yeliz Gül Ege, the prominent names of the tourism industry, Rector of the Akdeniz University Prof.Dr. Mustafa Ünal, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Beykan Çizel, faculty professors, students and members of the press.

The exhibition prepared by Coral Travel Group (OTI Holding) specially for its 20th year celebrations in 2012 was made with the aim of leaving an exclusive permanent historical work. Being curated by Gökhan Akçura, this exhibition was first opened at the Cultural Center of Antalya (AKM) and then was presented in various parts of Turkey. Now it has been donated by Coral Travel Group (OTI Holding) to the Faculty of Tourism and is considered as a valuable source to enlighten both the industry and the 4th generation of tourism students. From steamships at the Quay of Galata to the Orient Express, from Sarayburnu to the Grand Bazaar, from the Pera Palace Hotel to the first air, sea and bus trips; this exhibition contains multiple memories that can be considered to be very important for the Turkish tourism industry. The exposition has become an important source that outlines the key milestones of tourism in Turkey starting from 1863 and sheds light to its 150-years’ development.
